Shenandoah Art Destination
Founded by Jan-Willem & Nancy Boer, the Shenandoah Art Destination is a 10-acre property magnificently located near the historic town of Lexington, Virginia; nestled in the Shenandoah Valley between the Blue Ridge and the Allegheny Mountains. It offers an ideal creative vacation and inspiration for all art lovers of any ability – the fee for your stay is all-inclusive – accommodations (private room and bath), meals (home-cooked), and art instruction. All artists are welcome from the beginner to the professional for painting (all media), drawing and printmaking. Daily course guidance/tutelage is by Jan-Willem Boer, an established artist and illustrator for over 25 years in the USA & Europe, earning his degree from the Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Each day there is a focus on a different skill with much one-on-one instruction. The facility is set up with two great indoor studios and many wonderful outdoor locations for plein-air painting. It is the perfect setting to focus on art and at the same time have a refreshing vacation. Courses run from early spring to late autumn; for cost and more information please visit website.
